Evidence. 1. The Homeopathic Materia Medica

The Homeopathic Materia Medica (HMM) is the collected work and wisdom of homeopathic practitioners over 200 years of clinical experience. HMM is the means by which homeopaths utilise the 'Law of Similars', and match each patient with a suitable remedy.

The HMM are vast works. They contain detailed information about each individual remedy, and what symptoms each one can be used for, and they are modified and extended over the years, depending on clinical experience.

When a patient sits down with a homeopath, they are both experts in their own spheres. The patient knows his or her symptoms intimately. And the homeopath has this great source of HMM knowledge at his or her disposal. The task is to match the patients symptoms, with the known symptoms of remedies.

It is the means of applying the 'Law of Similars' to the patient's personal experience of illness.
